GSD is seeking individuals to coach our Middle School Girls in Basketball in their upcoming 2025-2026 season starting in January. We are looking for two individuals-- one to lead our 7th grade squad and one to lead our 8th grade squad!

The Grantsburg School District will hold its Annual Meeting on Monday, October 27, in the GHS Auditorium. The meeting starts at 6:00pm and is open to the public.

Last week, our second graders wrapped up their unit on Ancient Asian Civilizations! Students learned all about The Great Wall of China, The Chinese New Year, and much more! To celebrate their learning, each student created a red dragon featuring their name written in Chinese characters.

Fourth-grade students worked together to create an invention by working through the scientific method. It was a fantastic hands-on activity! ⚙️

School buses help students get to and from school safely every day—but they need our help on the roads! Please remember to drive with extra care around school buses and in school zones. 🚌

✅ Always stop when a bus extends its stop arm and red lights are flashing

✅ Slow down and stay alert in neighborhoods and near bus stops

✅ Never try to pass a school bus that is loading or unloading students

Third grade had a great trip to Crex Meadows yesterday! They applied knowledge from their Animal Classification unit, participated in bird watching, did a pond study and used survival skills!

Seventh grade students at GMS brought a memoir to life by acting out a key moment. The author had described leaving a bookstore and watching people tear down signs in support of a revolution. So, these students left the classroom and got to experience what it would have been like to witness (and participate in) that scene! 📚

➡️ Friday, Oct. 10: No School for On-Campus Schools

At the start of the year in math class, GMS 7th and 8th graders took part in a team-building activity to see which group could assemble a 100-piece puzzle the fastest. Winning groups earned a sticker! 🧩🏆

Fire safety is important at school and at home! 🚒

We’d like to share a few tips for families to prevent fires:

✅ Test smoke alarms monthly and replace the batteries regularly
✅ Create a fire escape plan and practice it with your family
✅ Keep matches and lighters out of reach of children
✅ Stay in the kitchen while cooking—especially when using the stovetop

Taking time to prepare helps protect the people who matter most!
