It's TACO TUESDAY here at GSD! Check out our tray today: Taco Salad with 1 cup of lettuce, 1/3 cup taco meat, 1/4 cup cheese, 1 T diced tomatoes, 1/2 cup refried beans and 1 bag of tortilla chips! With the salad, students received 3/4 cup sliced carrots, 1/2 cup grapes, a mandarin orange and milk! Ole' !!!

1st Grade is learning about astronomy, and Lydia dressed up to match!
Students in Mrs. Alden's kindergarten class earned a special day. They wore pajamas and had a visit from their favorite pup, Lacy.
Our Kindergarten students are learning all about Kings and Queens! Today, they pretended to be Kings, Queens, and even a knight while building castles out of multiple materials such as blocks and legos!
Kids love some snow and getting outside on these balmy days.
First grade is loving their astronomy unit. They learned about the moon and its many phases.

Second grade is working on numbers up to 1,000. Today, we counted and organized sticks. Bundling them into 100s, 10s, and 1s then adding them together.

This Week in Grantsburg Athletics!
Third-grade student Izzy Peterson recently broke the Grantsburg Elementary school record for the flex-arm hang during winter Physical Education fitness testing. The old record was just set in the Spring of 2022 by Maleah Luke with a time of 132 seconds. Peterson broke Luke’s record by three seconds. Congrats Izzy!
Second grade has been learning about habitats and animal adaptations. We did an experiment called "blubber glove" to replicate how whales stay warm in the Arctic waters.
GMS finished 2023 with festive fun! ❄️🎉
All grade levels got to participate in school-wide activities during the final week of the first semester. It was heartwarming to see our students spend time together and get creative on the dress-up days. Everyone had tons of fun!
