AP Psychology students tested their olfactory sense by trying to identify different smells inside of a coffee cup!

@Wisconsin School Music Association State Honors Music Project Participants Erin Downing and Greta White performed at the Overture Center for the Arts and the annual Conference of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association on October 26!

Football Playoffs


High school physics students enjoyed their recent unit on centripetal force in a lab and the dizzying activity of playing catch while spinning in a circle. Try this one at home to see the impact of centripetal force on the ball!



Grantsburg Community Education is offering a DNR Snowmobile Safety course! The two-day course is available to anyone 11 and older. ❄️
Classes will be held at the Grantsburg High School Library on November 4-5, 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Topics in Science students at GHS created sun prints, which are created by making a photo (light) sensitive solution! ☀️
They brought in and/or created objects to place over the paper, and then exposed their print to UV light. Doing so created images based on what portions were exposed to UV light!




Football Playoffs


GHS students in Physical Science used a melting point apparatus to determine the identity of unknown substances. They practiced how to load capillary tubes and became familiar with the sensors that help them collect data! 🔬



The Grantsburg High School yearbook crew was hard at work during homecoming! They captured over 10,000 photos to preserve the moments throughout the week.
The jam-packed week included dress-up days and activities like food relay, obstacle course, and tug-of-war. Of course, there was also the coronation, pep rally, and game!

Congratulations to Coach Doornink, who was recognized by Brooks Running and RunnerSpace as Midwest Coach of the Year!
Part of the “Brooks Running Inspiring Coaches” program, this honor rewards high school track and cross country coaches who are inspiring the next generation of runners. Coach Doornink was described in nominations as “selfless and so loving to her athletes,” and ”a shining star to the program!”

The GHS Homecoming Food Drive collected over 1,000 items to be delivered to a local food shelf!
Thank you to Food Shelf Director Dave Doskey for picking up donations from our student council members, Lucy and Jaden. What a great example of how our community supports our schools and local organizations!
