board

The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has designated Oct. 5-11 as Wisconsin School Board Weeka time to raise awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our communities. (Your school district name) is joining all public school districts across the state in celebrating Wisconsin School Board Week and honoring local board members for their commitment to (community’s name) and its children.

Schools are the heartbeat of our community, and our board members are devoted to helping our children grow and reach their potential.  It’s a difficult role.  School boards gather each month to make the tough decisionsand they put in countless hours between meetings to make sure they have the information necessary to make those decisions.

The key work of school boards is to raise student achievement by:

o   Creating a vision for what the community wants the school district to be, and making student achievement the top priority.

o   Establishing standards for what students are expected to learn and do.

o   Ensuring progress is measured to verify that the district’s goals are achieved and students are learning at expected levels.

o   Being accountable for their decisions by continually tracking and reporting results.

o   Creating a safe, orderly climate where students can learn and teachers can teach. o Forming community partnerships to solve common problems.

o   Focusing attention on the need for continuous improvement by questioning, rening and revising issues related to student achievement.

School board members give their community’s citizens a voice in education decision- making.  The members serving the Grantsburg School District are as follows: Dave Dahlberg, Brian Handy, Renae Rombach, Liz Shultz, Jason Burkman, Peter Denn, and Colleen Lade. We thank them for their dedication and service to our district, schools, staff, students and community!!!

THANK YOU!!!!
