Health 10

  1. Balance their daily diet to include all 5 food groups and 6 essential nutrients. 

  2. Recognize 3-5 healthy behaviors that deal with stress.  

  3. Recognize the difference & dangers in the four illegal drug categories and provide examples for each.

  4. Recognize and understand the Health Triangle and the each side effects the other. 

  5. Implement the correct steps in First Aid/CPR

  6. Access health information to make healthy and responsible decisions 

  7. Demonstrate refusal, negotiation, and collaboration skills to enhance health and avoid or reduce health risks.

 

Physical Education 9

  1. Play modified team sports using all the basic skills and strategies of the sport and some advanced skills.

  2. Acquires skills to participate in a lifetime activity outside of school

  3. Demonstrates and describes offensive, defensive, and transitional skills and strategies in team and individual sports.

  4. Participate willingly in a variety of physical activities appropriate for maintaining or enhancing a healthy, active lifestyle.

  5. Recognize and adjust their personal effort level to achieve health enhancing benefits during a variety of activities.

  6. Work with peers willingly, regardless of skill level and individual differences in partner and small group situations.

 

Physical Education 10

  1. Execute a variety of shots while participating in racquet sports.

  2. Participate in health-enhancing lifetime activities that can be pursued in the community as well as the school.

  3. Establish goals by identifying strengths and weaknesses using personal fitness assessments. 

  4. Apply the principles of exercise (FITT, overload, specificity, and progression) in implementing a personal fitness program.

  5. Self-assess heart rate before, during, and after various physical activities

  6. Work with peers willingly, regardless of skill level and individual differences in partner and small group situations.

 

Physical Education 11 / Electives of Strength Training and Advanced Strength Training

  1. Develop an appropriate conditioning program for a sport or lifetime fitness activity.  

  2. Compare health and fitness benefits derived from various physical activities.

  3. Achieve personal fitness goals after a period of training.

  4. Demonstrate the ability to monitor and adjust a personal fitness program to meet needs and goals.

  5. Identify major muscle groups of the body and correctly identifies and performs at least two weight training exercises for each muscle group.

  6. Demonstrate responsible decisions about using time, applying rules, and following through with decisions made.

 

Team/Individual Sports

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in two movement forms in individual and lifetime activities.

  2. Demonstrate proficient skills to participate in advanced play of some activities.

  3. Support teammates by movement and spacing in invasion, net, and field games.

  4. Apply preexisting skills and knowledge to the acquisition of new skills.

  5. Recognize and adjust personal effort level to achieve health enhancing benefits during a variety of activities.

  6. Exhibit respectful and mature behavior to contribute to a positive learning environment.
