Welcome to 4th Grade!!!

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I am looking forward to all the learning that will take place and make a lasting impact on your child's education! I have been teaching in Grantsburg since 2014.  I have taught 4th grade my whole time since being a classroom teacher.  What can I say, I love what I do :)

A little about myself: I grew up in Lindstrom, MN and went to Chisago Lakes K-12.  I am the oldest of 3.  My parents now live on Lake Mille Lacs in Isle, MN, where I spent a lot of my best memories of childhood there. I got married in 2005 to my husband Kyle.  He is an auto mechanic in Roseville, MN.

I went to the College of St. Catherines in St. Paul and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education with Middle School Math .  My favorite subject in school was Math and so happens to be one of my favorite subjects to also teach.  My favorite topics to teach are fractions and 2 and 3 digit Multiplication and Division.

One of my goals this year is to instill a love of reading in my students.  I can't wait to see how many of my students' will soar with the 40 book challenge! I love to read myself especially children's books. Being a teacher, is such a great excuse to read them too!

When I am not teaching, my husband and I have a cabin on Lake Vermilion in Tower, MN.  I love relaxing and reading a book on the water.  I have two cats named Bella and Luna.  Luna is funny and makes us laugh so much with her crazy antics.  Bella is more calm and a lil mama's girl.   They both love to go to the cabin and are great in the car.  :) In the winter, you can find me on the snowmobile trails enjoying the beauty of fresh fallen snow! I also love football (sorry I am a Vike's fan), and hockey Go MN Wild.

What an awesome community to teach for; I am so proud to be a Pirate!!!
I look forward to an awesome year full of adventures and many new learning experiences.
