Welcome to 4th Grade!!!

I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I am looking forward to all the learning that will take place and make a lasting impact on your child's education! I have been teaching in Grantsburg since 2014.  I have taught 4th grade my whole time since being a classroom teacher.  What can I say, I love what I do :)

A little about myself: I grew up in Lindstrom, MN and went to Chisago Lakes K-12.  I am the oldest of 3.  My parents now live on Lake Mille Lacs in Isle, MN, where I spent a lot of my best memories of childhood there. I got married in 2005 to my husband Kyle.  He is an auto mechanic in Roseville, MN.

I went to the College of St. Catherines in St. Paul and graduated in 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education with Middle School Math .  My favorite subject in school was Math and so happens to be one of my favorite subjects to also teach.  My favorite topics to teach are fractions and 2 and 3 digit Multiplication and Division.

One of my goals this year is to instill a love of reading in my students.  I can't wait to see how many of my students' will soar with the 40 book challenge! I love to read myself especially children's books. Being a teacher, is such a great excuse to read them too!

When I am not teaching, my husband and I have a cabin on Lake Vermilion in Tower, MN.  I love relaxing and reading a book on the water.  I have a cat named Bella.  She loves to run and play with her toy mice and mama's hair binders.  She is pretty funny and makes us laugh so much with her crazy antics.  She loves to go to the cabin and is great in the car.  :) In the winter, you can find me on the snowmobile trails enjoying the beauty of fresh fallen snow! I also love cats, football (sorry I am a Vike's fan), and hockey Go MN Wild.

What an awesome community to teach for; I am so proud to be a Pirate!!!
I look forward to an awesome year full of adventures and many new learning experiences.
