I directly work with math students in three different ways:
One is providing pullout instruction in the resource room. For this mean of instruction, the primary focuses are on the district's math essential standards and functional math practices.
Another is in a team-teaching capacity with Integrated math students. For this, I work with an experienced regular education staff member. I directly teach some of the content, provide many checks for understanding, and provide support for students during this time.
Some students on my caseload are in regular education math courses that are not team-taught. With permission from the math teacher, they can come to my room for review of core concepts and receive assistance on their daily work if needed.
