English is either directly taught or supported in my classroom.
For students that need pullout English support, I teach directly to our district's essential standards according to grade level. With these in mind, I try to tie these standards into their functional living and career goals.
Other students in regular education English classes come to my room for support in their reading and writing. Often times, I lean on our other IEP teacher to provide this assistance as she has an excellent background in language arts.
