Welcome Parents and Students!

My name is Beth DeVilla and I am the new School Psychologist for Grantsburg School District.  I am orginally from West Virginia and moved to Wisconsin after I graduated with my Ed.S. from Marshall University.  This is my 3rd year as a School Psych and I am really excited to be here!

I originally started my graduate career in clinical psychology but decided to switch after several years.  I have worked as a therapist in a maximum security prison and served as a psychological assistant for a forensic psychologist.  I have worked on criminal competency, parental fitness and abuse/neglect evaluations.  I also had the opportunity to conduct my thesis work at an alternative middle school in WV.  This school was the last chance for these kids before they were expelled.  I realized that if you really want to help others and institute change, it starts with the children!!  I wanted to have the opportunity to help kids in every area to prevent them from going down the wrong path and to help them be as successful as they can be!  I decided to switch to school psychology and have been happy ever since!

I love living in this area!  The people are nice and the land is beautiful.  I especially like visiting the lakes and plan to go ice fishing for the first time this winter!  There are soo many outdoor activities here that I have not been bored yet.  lol

If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesistate to contact me.  I would be happy to help in any way that I can.  I am excited to be part of the Grantsburg School District and look forward to working with you!
